JP Sheet provides Japanese auction sheet verification services by retrieving and presenting records from auction houses, dealer networks, salvage stocks, and private inventories across Japan. This page outlines important limitations and disclaimers that apply to our service.
Nature of Our Service
JP Sheet is a data retrieval and verification service. We provide access to auction records that already exist in third-party databases — we do not create, generate, or originate the underlying auction sheet data ourselves.
Our reports show:
- The auction sheet as recorded by licensed Japanese inspectors at the time of the auction
- Auction grade, mileage, damage codes, equipment list, and inspector notes from that recorded auction
- Photos taken at the auction (where available from our source)
Our reports do NOT show:
- The vehicle's current condition (which may differ significantly from auction date)
- Repairs, damage, or modifications made AFTER the auction
- Mileage accumulated after the auction was recorded
- Current ownership, registration, or title status in your country
- Mechanical condition, road-worthiness, or safety inspection results
Accuracy of Information
While we make every reasonable effort to retrieve accurate and complete records from our data sources, we cannot guarantee absolute accuracy. The auction records are created by third-party Japanese auction houses and their inspectors, and reflect their assessments at the time of auction.
Limitations on accuracy include but are not limited to:
- Inspector subjectivity — auction grades may vary slightly between different inspectors examining the same vehicle
- Data transcription — typographical errors in original records cannot always be detected
- Translation — translations from Japanese to English may contain interpretive differences
- Incomplete records — some older records may have missing data fields
- Photo availability — auction photos are not available for all records
- Source unavailability — some records may not be retrievable due to data source restrictions
Reports Are Not a Current Inspection
Before purchasing any used Japanese vehicle, we strongly recommend you also:
- Physically inspect the vehicle yourself, or have a qualified mechanic inspect it
- Verify the chassis number on the vehicle matches the chassis on the auction record
- Test drive the vehicle
- Check current registration documents and title in your country
- Verify current mileage matches expected accumulation since auction date
- Look for signs of repair or damage that occurred after the auction
No Warranty
JP Sheet provides reports on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
- Warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of information
- Warranties that our service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Warranties that defects will be corrected
- Warranties regarding any vehicle's actual condition, safety, value, or fitness for purchase
No oral or written information or advice given by JP Sheet, our employees, or representatives shall create a warranty.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- JP Sheet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to: loss of profits, loss of business opportunity, loss of data, loss of vehicle value, costs of substitute services, or vehicle repair/replacement costs — arising from your use of our service
- JP Sheet shall not be liable for any decision you make based on our reports, including (but not limited to) decisions to purchase, not purchase, sell, or value any vehicle
- JP Sheet shall not be liable for any losses arising from differences between the vehicle's auction-date condition and its current condition
- JP Sheet shall not be liable for losses arising from third-party data source errors, omissions, or unavailability
- Our total aggregate liability to you, for any claim arising out of or related to our service, shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, the limitations above will apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Buyer Responsibility
You acknowledge and agree that:
- The decision to purchase any vehicle is entirely your own
- You should use our reports as ONE of MANY tools in your vehicle purchase decision
- You should perform your own due diligence including physical inspection
- You are responsible for understanding the import laws, regulations, and requirements of your country
- You are responsible for verifying that auction documents match the actual vehicle
- You should not rely solely on our reports for financial, legal, or safety decisions
Not Legal, Financial, or Mechanical Advice
JP Sheet reports and any content on our website (including blog posts, country guides, and country age limits) are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute:
- Legal advice regarding vehicle imports, customs, registration, or compliance
- Financial advice regarding vehicle valuations, taxes, or investment decisions
- Mechanical advice regarding vehicle repair, safety, or roadworthiness
- Professional opinion on vehicle authenticity or fraud
You should consult appropriate licensed professionals — lawyers, accountants, mechanics, customs brokers — for advice specific to your situation.

Vehicle Condition Can Change Significantly
- Damage that occurred during shipping from Japan to your country
- Repairs, repaints, or replacements done by dealers after import
- Odometer tampering done AFTER the vehicle left Japan
- Flood, fire, or accident damage from the vehicle's life in your country
- Modifications made by previous owners in your country
- Mechanical issues that developed over time
The longer the gap between auction date and your inspection date, the greater the chance that condition has changed materially.
Your Indemnification of JP Sheet
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless JP Sheet, its officers, employees, agents, and partners from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:
- Your use or misuse of our service
- Your violation of these disclaimers or our Terms of Service
- Your purchase or non-purchase decisions based on our reports
- Your interactions with third parties (sellers, dealers, transporters)
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
Governing Law
This disclaimer and your use of our service is governed by the laws applicable to JP Sheet's principal place of operation, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved as set out in our Terms and Conditions.
