How does JP Sheet calculate your car's value?
We use your actual purchase price as the starting point — then apply real depreciation data, mileage and condition adjustments.
📉 Depreciation Model
Every car loses value over time at a predictable rate. Japanese cars depreciate slower than European luxury cars. SUVs hold value better than economy cars. We apply the right curve for your car type.
🌍 Country-Specific Pricing
The same car is worth different amounts in Pakistan vs Kenya vs UAE. We factor in local shipping costs, import duty rates, VAT, port fees and local market demand for each country.
📋 Verify with Auction Sheet
For Japanese import cars, the most accurate verification of your car's real history — grade, mileage and damage — is the original auction sheet. Verify yours for just $7.
Frequently asked questions
How does this calculator work?
JP Sheet's car value calculator uses real Japanese auction price data combined with year-over-year depreciation models specific to each vehicle make and model. We adjust for the destination country's import duty, taxes and typical local market premium to give you an estimated current resale value in your local currency.
Why does it use historical exchange rates?
To accurately reflect what your car was worth in your local currency when you bought it, we use the exchange rate from that purchase year. The current value is then calculated in today's exchange rate. This gives you a true picture of value retention rather than just currency fluctuation effects.
How accurate are the values?
Estimates are within 10–15% of typical local market resale prices for cars with normal mileage and clean history. Actual value depends on condition, mileage, grade, accident history, and local demand. For maximum accuracy on a Japanese import car, verify the original auction sheet — grade, mileage and damage marks — for $7 to refine your estimate.
Can I use this for any car make or model?
The calculator works best for Japanese-made vehicles (Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Lexus, Daihatsu, Isuzu and others). Non-Japanese cars are not currently in our depreciation database — for those, we recommend consulting local market listings directly.
Why are values different in other countries?
Each country applies different import duties, taxes and registration fees. A 2018 Toyota Corolla worth $8,000 in Japan might retail for $12,000 in Pakistan (after 80% duty), $9,500 in Kenya (lower duty), or $14,000 in Bangladesh (high duty + scarcity premium). The calculator accounts for these 139-country specific factors automatically.
